Hyundai Wins $139.5mn 380kV OHTL Projects in Saudi Arabia

The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has awarded the projects to Hyundai Engineering & Construction for the construction of two 380kV Double Circuit Overhead Transmission Line (OHTL) in Central region of Saudi Arabia.

 

The projects are:

380kV OHTL – Hail-4 BSP and Qassim-2 BSP

 

The scope of works includes construction of One (1) 380kV double circuit Overhead transmission line between Hail-4 BSP and Qassim-2 BSP. Approximate route length of OHTL is 216 km.

 

The value of the contract is SAR 294.4 million (USD 78.5million).

 

380kV OHTL – Hail-4 BSP (9070) and Hail-3 BSP (9039)

 

The scope of works includes Construction of One (1) 380kV double circuit Overhead transmission line between Hail-4 BSP (9070) and Hail-3 BSP (9039). Approximate route length of OHTL is 156.80 km.

 

The value of the contract is SAR 228.7 million (USD 61million).

 

Both the project involve use of 4-795 kcmil ACSR/AW CONDOR conductor per phase and two (2) OPGW along the length of the new line. The new OHTL will be installed on latticed steel tower in vertical configuration.

 

The contractor shall perform on lump sum turnkey basis, the design, engineering, materials procurement, quality management, factory inspection/testing, transport and delivery to site, installation, construction, site inspection, testing and commissioning, all associated work and services until final handing over of new OHTL work in a satisfactorily working and operating condition.
