Iran Petchem Output up by 7% Y/Y in Q1

Iran’s petrochemical output rose by 7 percent in the first 3 months of the current calendar year, which began on March 21 compared to the same period last year.

According to the National Petrochemical Company (NPC), petrochemical plants yielded 16.3 million tons of products during the period.

Seyed Jalal Mirhashemi, NPC’s director of production control, said: "With the measures taken and the sustainable supply of feedstock in the current calendar year, production of various products in petrochemical complexes has increased and while providing maximum domestic markets, the export program has been achieved.”

Emphasizing that Iran's petrochemical industry is one of the mother industries and one of the most important pillars of development and the driving force of various sectors of the country's economy, he said: “The approach of the National Petrochemical Company is to complete the production chain, create diversity in products, provide feedstock for domestic industries and increase the value of the items produced in this industry.”
