Netherlands to Invest 200 Mn Euros to Set Up Solar Panel Manufacturing Unit in Assam

BJP led government's scouting for investment has found takers with a Netherlands based company has expressed willingness to invest close to 200 million euros in setting up manufacturing facility for producing solar panels in Assam.

 

Netherlands Ambassador to India Alphonsus Stoelinga along with a business delegations is presently in Assam, the delegation had meeting with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Monday.

 

Stoelinga said that Hyet Solar, a company working in solar power is keen to invest 200 million euros to set up a plant in the state. The company is targeting to generate 200 MW of solar power in Assam.

 

"The company has set up a unit in Netherland manufacturing silicon based solar panels and Assam facility will be the second unit of the company," Stoelinga said.

 

The chief minister also said that Power Department would look at the proposal and would have meeting with the company. The company also offered to tie up with local partners, financial institutions for the purpose.

 

Ambassador said that Dutch company Ayursundra BV will set up healthcare facility in Jorhat. This facility which will come up with an investment of 21 million euros will include diagnostic centers and hospital in a hub and spoke arrangement.
