Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended the name of Dr. Ranjit Rath for the post of Chairman & Managing Director, Oil India Limited. Currently, he is serving as Chairman-cum-Managing Director, Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited.
PESB interviewed Four other applicants apart from him in the selection meeting including Mr. Harish Madhav, Director (Finance), Oil India Ltd, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Goswami, Director (Operations), Oil India Ltd., and Mr. Agadh Medhi, Executive Director, Oil India Ltd.
Mr. Saravanan U, Chairman & Managing Director, Madras Fertilizers Ltd was also interviewed in the meeting. Moreover, Mr. Rath can assume the charge of the post, after the Appointments Committee of Cabinet (ACC) nod.
Dr. Ranjit Rath is a practitioner Geoscientist, of IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, and Utkal University, he has also previously worked as a General Manager with Engineers India Limited, New Delhi, and was posted with Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Ltd., New Delhi, an SPV under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Mr. Rath has 22+ years of impeccable experience and expertise in the field of Geosciences also had a recipient of the prestigious ‘National Geosciences Award 2016’ from the President of India.
