India: Dalmia Cement Installs Solar Power Plant

Dalmia Cement (Bharat) (DCBL) has installed a ground-mounted solar power plant with a capacity of 17.1 MW at Cuttack in Odisha. The plant is spread over an area of 49 acre.

The 17.1 MW captive power plant will generate 25.52 MU/PA, to meet the energy requirement of its Kapilas Cement Manufacturing Works (KCMW), Odisha.

The plant also aims to reduce KCMW Cuttack plant’s day-time power requirement dependency on fossil fuels by over 40 percent and replace it with a clean, emissions-free, and renewable energy source.

The project was executed in a record time of two and a half months and will reduce conventional power consumption by 27 percent.
