India Unveils Rs 400 cr Plan for National Green Hydrogen Mission

The New and Renewable Energy Ministry unveiled the research and development (R&D) roadmap for the national green hydrogen mission. The Ministry has committed Rs 400 crore towards developing a research ecosystem which can commercialize green hydrogen.

The roadmap was announced at an event organized by the Ministry and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) earlier this month.

The roadmap underlines the development of materials, technologies, and infrastructure for enhancing the efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness of green hydrogen production, storage, and transportation.

The initial focus on mission-mode projects will deliver results in two to three years with the allocated R&D budget. The roadmap seeks to leverage research to ensure that India is at the cutting edge of the sector in the world.
