Adani Group, Kowa Holdings Sign JV for Green Hydrogen and Derivatives

Adani Global, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Adani Enterprises announced a 50:50 joint venture (JV) with Kowa Holdings Asia, Singapore, for sales and marketing of green ammonia, green hydrogen and its derivatives.

The green hydrogen and its derivatives are to be manufactured in India under Adani New Industries (ANIL), the green hydrogen platform of the Adani Group. ANIL develops end-to-end solutions for the production of green hydrogen and its associated derivatives at scale.

The JV will focus on marketing of products in Japan, Taiwan and Hawaii, and take forward the collaborative effort in the renewable energy space. The first project of ANIL of one million tpa green hydrogen is being implemented in phases in Gujarat. In the first phase, it is expected to start production by FY27, and could be scaled up to three million tpa of green hydrogen in the next 10 years, with an investment of about USD 50 billion.

The integrated hydrogen ecosystem spans three business streams such as manufacturing of supply chain products, including polysilicon, ingot, wafer, cell and module in solar, green hydrogen generation, and downstream derivatives.

Also, Mundra Port's proximity to the global supply chain would enable export opportunities in this segment, considering the availability of jetty for the shipment of cryogenic products.
