ME Oilfield Services Partners with RealWear for Hands-Free Wearable Solutions

A major Middle East oilfield services operator recently collaborated with RealWear, the leader in hands-free intrinsically safe AR technology to accelerate its productivity and safety efforts on the frontline.

The operator was able to increase operational efficiency, safety, and productivity by more than 75%.

The solution, using RealWear HMT-1Z1® that clips on a hard hat, is ATEX Zone 1 (C1/D1) and complements or even replaces the need for an intrinsically safe tablet. In addition to being ultra-rugged, the device is voice-controlled, even in high noise environments. Field operators can access and interact with digital information in real-time, freeing their hands for the work, as well as collaborate with subject matter experts via ‘remote assist.’

The collaboration has streamlined maintenance and inspection processes, reducing paperwork and errors. This strategy aligns with corporate values of operational excellence, improved customer services and carbon emissions reduction through avoided travel.

RealWear’s CEO expressed excitement about helping oil and gas customers with its goals. The customer’s Vice President of Engineering and Production Services emphasized the game-changing impact of RealWear's solution on its operations.

This collaboration showcases leadership in embracing digital solutions for enhancing safety and operational efficiency in the O&G industry, RealWear said.
