Maruti Suzuki Begins Work on Two New Solar Power Facilities

Maruti Suzuki India has begun work on two new solar power plants at its unit to boost its commitment to carbon neutrality.

Among these two solar power plants, 1.85 MWp will be built at R&D Centre and 20 MWp will come up at Manesar in Haryana. Additionally, the plants will be commissioned in FY 2023-24 and FY 2024-25, respectively.

The company is also boosting its consumption of green power acquired by the Haryana State Electricity Board (HSEB). On completion, the company's total solar power capacity across all facilities is expected to reach 48.15 MWp.

Further, Maruti Suzuki plans to meet 30 percent of its electricity requirements with renewable energy by 2024-25.
