Aramco Inks MoU with QYSEA to Advance AI-Powered Underwater Intelligence

QYSEA Technology has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Aramco’s Green Energy & Environmental Policy Department to explore the deployment of underwater robotics, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital marine technologies for biodiversity and habitat monitoring in Saudi Arabia.

The MOU was signed on July 14 during the Sustainability Technology Partnership MOU Signing Ceremony, establishing a framework for cooperation focused on marine biodiversity, environmental protection and sustainable maritime operations.

While the financial value of the MOU was not disclosed, the collaboration is expected to examine how QYSEA’s underwater intelligence technologies can support Aramco’s environmental initiatives and broader industrial transformation objectives in the Kingdom, in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

The cooperation will focus on the application of underwater robotics, AI-enabled inspection and digital marine workflows for marine environmental monitoring and related offshore applications.

According to QYSEA CEO Belinda Zhang, Saudi Arabia represents a strategic market for the company as the Kingdom continues to develop its energy, maritime infrastructure and environmental protection capabilities.

Following the MOU signing, QYSEA hosted its Saudi Maritime Technology Partner Forum in Al Khobar, bringing together representatives from Aramco, Saudi partners, service providers and other industry stakeholders.

The forum focused on the development of intelligent underwater operations across offshore energy, marine infrastructure, ports, coastal assets and environmental monitoring.

QYSEA showcased its industrial underwater AI solutions, including remotely operated vehicle (ROV) platforms, navigation and positioning technologies, AI-enabled inspection systems and integrated marine data capabilities.

Live demonstrations of the company’s X1 and E-MASTER NAVI platforms highlighted the potential of rapidly deployable robotic systems to improve inspection repeatability, standardize data collection, reduce diver exposure and enhance field efficiency.

As part of its Saudi market strategy, QYSEA also outlined plans to strengthen local technical and service capabilities through technical training, product support, joint market development and partnerships with Saudi service providers.

The company said these initiatives are intended to build local technical expertise and field readiness to support marine inspection, offshore energy, industrial infrastructure and environmental monitoring applications.

QYSEA will continue working with Saudi partners to develop practical applications for intelligent underwater technologies, supporting safer, more efficient and sustainable marine operations across the Kingdom.
