Algeria Invites Qatar’s UCC Holding to bid in 2026 Oil and Gas Round

Algeria has invited Qatar’s UCC Holding to bid for oil and gas concessions within its 2026 round that was launched in April.

Algerian energy minister Mohamed Arkab offered the invitation at talks with a delegation from UCC and its parent company Power International Holding, the Algerian ministry said.

During the meeting, Arkab presented a comprehensive overview of Algeria's hydrocarbon sector development programme, inviting the Qatari group to take advantage of the investment incentives, facilities, and attractive legal frameworks offered to investors under the hydrocarbons law, the ministry said.

He also extended an invitation to the Qatari group and its subsidiaries to actively participate in the upcoming Algeria Bid Round 2026 for the development of available fields and exploration blocks, it added.

Gas-rich Algeria has set November as a deadline for bidding this year. The country has signed several contracts within previous bidding rounds, including one with state-owned Qatar Energy.
