Infinity Power, Hassan Allam Sign PPA for 1 GW Ras Shokeir Wind Project

Egyptian consortium of Infinity Power and Hassan Allam Utilities Energy (HAU Energy) have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) for the 1-gigawatt (GW) Ras Shokeir Wind Project in Egypt's Red Sea Governorate.

The 1-gigawatt (GW) project will be developed by the special purpose vehicle (SPV) Ras Shokeir Wind Energy Company across approximately 143 square kilometres (sq km) in Ras Shokeir in the Gulf of Suez region, Infinity Power said in a press statement.

Infinity Power is a joint venture between Egypt’s Infinity and the UAE’s Masdar, while HAU Energy is the renewable energy development arm of Hassan Allam Utilities.

Nayer Fouad, Co-Founder and CEO of Infinity Power and Chairman of Ras Shokeir Wind Energy Company, signed the PPA with EETC Chairperson Mona Rizk.

Once operational, the wind farm is expected to generate enough electricity to supply more than 1.2 million Egyptian homes and avoid more than 1.36 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, the statement said.

The project will support Infinity Power’s target of reaching 10 GW of operational renewable energy capacity by 2032, it added.

The statement didn’t disclose investment value, PPA tariff and duration, financial close schedule, construction timelines and targeted commercial operation date. However, in March 2026, a consortium led by French utility giant Engie had signed a 25-year PPA with EETC for the development of a 900 megawatts (MW) onshore wind farm near Ras Shokeir.

In December 2025, Infinity Power had broken ground on its 200 MW Ras Ghareb Wind Project in the Gulf of Suez region. The project is scheduled to start operations in December 2027. The company currently operates the 252 MW West Bakr Wind Farm in the Gulf of Suez.
