PGCIL Receives LoA for Transmission Project Connecting SR, ER Grids

Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) has received the letter of Intent (LoI) for a project  titled “Inter-Regional Strengthening between Southern Region (SR) Grid and Eastern Region (ER) Grid.”

The CPSE had been declared the successful bidder under tariff based competitive bidding (TBCB) for this inter-state transmission system. The project will be implemented on a build, own, operate, and transfer (BOOT) basis and involves constructing 765 kV double-circuit transmission lines across Odisha and Andhra Pradesh, along with line bays and reactor installations at both ends.

This initiative is designed to enhance inter-regional power transfer capacity and reinforce grid reliability, supporting India’s rising electricity demand and renewable energy integration.
