Iraq Inaugurates Zubair-Mishrif Gas Separation Plant Expansion Project

Under the patronage of the Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs and Minister of Oil, Eng. Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad, a pre-commissioning ceremony for the Zubair-Mishrif Gas Separation Plant Expansion Project. The Minister emphasized that this project represents a new milestone in the achievement of the project, the fruit of the great and dedicated efforts of those working in the oil sector, in cooperation with our partners in the implementing and supporting agencies.

The Minister indicated that this project represents a strategic addition to the infrastructure of the gas sector, as it will effectively contribute to increasing the production capacity of associated gas, thus supplying power plants with additional quantities of clean fuel. This will positively impact the country's energy situation and support the stability of the electricity system.

The Minister praised the great efforts made by the engineering, technical, and administrative staff of the Basra Oil Company and the Maysan Oil Company, as well as the fruitful cooperation with our partners from the implementing companies, primarily ENI, Kogas, and other companies, who worked as a team and within precise timelines, despite all the challenges. The ceremony was attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry for Extraction Affairs, Mr. Bassem Mohammed Khader, the Director General of Basra Oil Company, Mr. Bassem Abdul Karim, and a number of representatives of the companies implementing the project.
