AGEL Starts Operation of Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Plant at Jaisalmer

Adani Green Energy (AGEL), the Adani Group's renewables arm, has its fourth wind-solar hybrid power plant fully operational at Jaisalmer in Rajasthan. The new hybrid power plant has a combined operational generation capacity of 700 MW and a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 25 years.

The new plant consists of a combination of 600 MW of solar and 510 MW of wind power. To maximize solar energy generation, the latest hybrid plant deploys advanced renewable technologies such as bifacial solar PV modules and horizontal single-axis trackers (HSAT) systems.

With the successful operation of the 700 MW plant, the world's largest wind-solar hybrid power plant, the company now has the largest operating renewable portfolio in India, with 8,024 MW.

AGEL completed India's first hybrid power plant of 390 MW in May 2022. The world's largest co-located hybrid power plant of 600 MW was commissioned in September 2022, followed by the third hybrid power plant of 450 MW in December 2022. All three of these hybrid energy generation assets are located in the Rajasthan town of Jaisalmer.
