Iraq Reaches Peak in the Generation of Electricity – MoE

Iraq's Ministry of Electricity (MoE) has announced that it has achieved unprecedented electricity production of over 24,000 megawatts.

 

The Ministry said in a statement that "the national staff, under the direct supervision of the Minister of Electricity Adel Karim, achieved a previous result of the electricity system, which reached 24,047 megawatts: it is the load of highest production the system has ever seen."

 

The department expects to achieve a further increase in production in the coming days, equal to 1,000 megawatts, owing to the entry into operation of new stations and production units.

 

To this are added other projects related to combined cycles and cooling systems, solar power plant projects, waste-to-energy plants and electrical interconnections that will allow the country to obtain "high reliability and great stability of the electricity grid".
