TPREL Commissions 190.5 MW FDRE Project in Rajasthan

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) said that it has commissioned a 190.5 MW firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) project at Kalasar, Bikaner, in Rajasthan.

This is part of a bigger 460 MW FDRE project, a company statement said. FDRE is green power paired with energy storage to ensure on-demand electricity delivery.

The project will supply energy to HPPC, MSEDCL and NPCL discoms.

The project marks another significant milestone in India’s clean energy journey by integrating large-scale solar generation with advanced energy storage and grid support technologies to deliver reliable, dispatchable renewable power, it stated.

With this project, the company’s total renewable utility capacity has reached 12.4 GW. Of this, around 6.9 GW is operational, including 5.6 GW of solar and 1.3 GW of wind capacity, while close to 5.5 GW is under various stages of implementation and is expected to be commissioned in phases over the next 24 months.
