HPCL Subsidiary Inaugurates 10.4 MWp Solar Plant in Jalgaon

HPCL Renewable & Green Energy (HPRGE), a subsidiary of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL), has inaugurated its largest solar power plant to date in Erandol Taluka of Jalgaon district, Maharashtra.

The 10.4 MWp solar project was inaugurated by Director-Finance Rajneesh Narang and marks a key milestone in HPCL’s transition toward sustainable and low-carbon energy solutions.

The plant spans approximately 32 acres and is equipped with 18,760 solar modules designed to support captive renewable energy requirements for HPCL’s marketing and operational facilities across Maharashtra. The project is expected to generate around 1.4 crore kilowatt-hours of clean electricity annually, significantly reducing dependence on conventional energy sources and lowering the company’s carbon footprint.

With this addition, HPRGE’s total installed solar capacity has reached 24.3 MWp, collectively producing over 3.3 crore kilowatt-hours of renewable energy each year.

Key objectives of the project include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving operational energy efficiency, and expanding the use of captive renewable power, thereby strengthening HPCL’s overall renewable energy footprint and supporting India’s broader clean energy transition goals. The commissioning aligns with HPCL’s long-term sustainability roadmap and Net Zero ambitions, reinforcing its strategy to decarbonize operations and expand the share of clean energy in its portfolio.
