Rajasthan Govt Partners with ISA for Clean Energy Transition

The Rajasthan government has partnered with the International Solar Alliance (ISA) to accelerate the state's clean energy transition through a comprehensive action framework focused on renewable energy expansion and grid modernization.

Rajasthan has become the first Indian state to enter into such a partnership with the ISA. The framework, titled "Advance Clean Energy, Driven Sustainable Development," was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma by Energy Secretary Arti Dogra and ISA Director General Ashish Khanna.

The initiative aims to prepare Rajasthan's energy transition roadmap for 2030-35, covering key areas such as renewable energy integration, transmission and distribution upgrades, grid modernization, energy storage, policy reforms and institutional capacity building. It also promotes artificial intelligence-enabled digitalization in the power sector. As part of the initiative, a pilot project using digital twin technology will be launched at Ajmer DISCOM to improve electricity demand forecasting, network planning, renewable energy integration and power reliability.

Chief Minister Sharma said the partnership would strengthen Rajasthan's renewable energy ecosystem and noted that Rajasthan leads the country with over 42 GW of installed solar capacity and nearly 48 GW of total clean energy capacity.
