AMPIN Energy Transition Launches Odisha’s First Group Captive C&I Solar Project

AMPIN Energy Transition has successfully commissioned Odisha’s first group captive commercial and industrial (C&I) open access solar project, a significant milestone in the state's renewable energy transition.

The 60 MWp solar project, developed under the OREP-22 policy, is located in Kantabanji and plays a pivotal role in advancing Odisha’s renewable energy goals. AMPIN was involved in the project from policy formulation to execution, handling land acquisition, engineering, construction, and commissioning.

The solar plant will provide clean energy to several major industrial and commercial consumers, including Bharti Airtel, Jindal Stainless, Emami Paper Mills, and Quality CARE Hospitals. The project aims to reduce conventional grid power consumption by nearly 50 percent for these companies, offering energy cost savings of 25-30 percent and cutting carbon emissions by approx. 77 tonne annually –equivalent to planting about 3.6 million trees each year.

AMPIN is expanding its footprint, with an additional 45 MWp under construction and 50 MWp in the pipeline, set to boost the company’s total renewable energy portfolio in Odisha to 200 MW.
