Essar Renewables Signs MoU for Rs 8,000-cr Renewable Energy Projects

Essar Renewables has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Maharashtra government to develop two GW of renewable energy projects with an investment of Rs 8,000 crore.

The initiative is projected to generate over 2,000 employment opportunities while bolstering the state’s economic and environmental objectives. The renewable energy projects are slated to begin operations in the financial year 2026-27, focusing on providing round-the-clock clean energy solutions. A key area of impact will be the electric vehicle (EV) truck charging ecosystem, targeting companies such as Blue Energy Motors and Greenline.

This development is part of Essar Renewables' broader vision to achieve over eight GW of renewable energy capacity within the next five years. The company’s expertise spans solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems, making it a pivotal contributor to India’s green energy transformation.

Essar Renewables’ projects aim to create a scalable and sustainable model for renewable energy integration, setting the stage for further investments in the sector and contributing significantly to RE targets.
