NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL), a subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Rajasthan last month to develop 25 GW of renewable energy projects in the state.

The MoU was exchanged during the Rising Rajasthan Investor Meet in New Delhi between K S Sundaram, Director (Projects), NGEL, and Alok (IAS), ACS (Energy), in the presence of Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.

The collaboration is expected to boost Rajasthan’s role in India’s renewable energy sector, driving significant energy development in the region. Senior officials from both the government and NGEL attended the signing event.

NTPC Green Energy has also submitted draft papers to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for Rs 100 billion initial public offering (IPO), expected to open in early November 2024. The IPO is aimed at supporting NGEL's expansion plans in the renewable energy sector.
