Sudair Solar PV Plant Capacity Changed to 1.5GW

Saudi Arabia’s Sudair Solar PV Plant capacity has been changed to 1.5GW from its earlier capacity of 2GW.

The project location is in Sudair Area, approximately 150km from Riyadh, capital city of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Public Investment Fund is overseeing the project. EPC contractors submitted the revised proposals to the developer based on new capacity.

The project scope of work also includes a 380kV Substation, Pooling Station Substations (380/33kV) and associated interfacing with the network.

Significant progress at the solar PV plant was made in late-2019 with the award of preliminary contracts, but due to the pandemic, finalizing of a power purchase agreement is being delayed without which construction won’t begin.
