Venerable LNG Awaits EC for LNG Terminal at Haldia

Venerable LNG is planning to set up a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal with a capacity of one million tpa at Haldia in Midnapore district of West Bengal. The project worth Rs 700 crore will spread over 11.48 acre of land.

 

The project comprises a small-scale LNG terminal for LNG import, storage & distribution facility. The terminal involves setting up LNG storage tank and associated processing and distribution facilities to store, regasify and distribute LNG/gas to customers.

 

The employment generation during the construction phase will be for 500 persons and during the operational phase, about 50 persons. The project was awarded terms of reference (ToR) by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) in March 2019.

 

As per the latest development with Projects Today, Venerable LNG is still awaiting environment clearance (EC) for the project. Civil work is expected to commence by December 2019.
