Engie Commissions 200 MW Solar Power Plant at Gujarat Solar Park

Engie has commissioned a 200 MW solar plant at the Raghanesda solar park in Gujarat.

 

The project will generate about 546 GW hours of electricity, while reducing 3,87,056 tonne of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

 

The project is spread across 380 ha inside the solar park that has been developed by a Gujarat state entity – the Gujarat Power Corporation (GPCL).

 

Debt for the project has been secured under a long-term project financing arrangement with the Asian Development Bank and Societe Generale. The project has been implemented through Electro Solaire, a special purpose vehicle (SPV) owned by the ENGIE Group.

 

The company’s portfolio developed in India now stands at 17 projects with over 1.1 GW of solar and 280 MW of wind power.

 

The modules for this project were sourced from Jinko and Longi. While Sterling & Wilson will be the O&M provider for a period of five years. The project was won under Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam tender.
