TPREL enters into PPA with Tata Power-DDL for 510 MW Hybrid Project

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL) has entered into a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL), for a 510 MW hybrid project in Karnataka.

The PPA observes a capacity bifurcation of 170 MW solar and 340 MW wind power. Proposed as one of the largest hybrid projects in the country, it will be commissioned within 24 months from the PPA execution date.

The project, which advances the transition to clean energy, will save an average of 1,540 MUs of carbon dioxide emissions annually. It has been awarded through a competitive bidding process and is an extension of the earlier letter of acceptance (LoA) of 255 MW received in December 2022.

With this, the total renewable capacity of TPREL will reach 6,303 MW with an installed capacity of 3,909 MW (2,981 MW for solar, 928 MW for wind) and 2,394 MW under various stages of implementation.

Tata Power-DDL is a joint venture (JV) between Tata Power and the government of Delhi which supplies electricity to over seven million residents in North Delhi.
