Arabian Drilling Secures SLB Contract for 8 Gas Rigs

Saudi Arabia’s Arabian Drilling Company has signed a five-year contract with SLB Schlumberger Middle East for eight additional land rigs supporting gas operations.

The contract covers the provision of eight land rigs for Gas LSTK (lump-sum turnkey) operations, with the rigs to be redeployed from Arabian Drilling’s existing available land rig fleet, the company said in a stock exchange statement.

The contract is expected to start contributing to the company's revenue in the fourth quarter of 2026, the statement said, adding that the new order will add approximately SAR 2 billion ($533 million) to the company’s backlog.

In August 2026, Arabian Drilling had signed a five-year contract with SLB covering 11 existing land rigs.

Together, the two contracts will add approximately SAR5 billion ($1.33 billion) to Arabian Drilling's backlog, taking its total backlog to around SAR16 billion ($4.27 billion), the company said.

The disclosure did not identify the end client or gas fields/projects where the eight rigs will operate.

SLB is a major shareholder in Arabian Drilling alongside Saudi Arabia’s Industrialization & Energy Services Company (TAQA).
