NHPC Partner with APGENCO to Develop Renewable Energy Projects

NHPC has partnered with Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO) to form a joint venture named APGENCO NHPC Green Energy.

Both entities hold an equal 50:50 equity stake in the venture, which aims to promote and efficiently develop renewable energy and pumped storage hydro projects.

The collaboration will initially focus on five projects: Yaganti PSP (1,000 MW), Rajupalem PSP (800 MW), Gadikota PSP (1,200 MW), Aravetipalli PSP (1,320 MW), and Deenepalli PSP (750 MW). These projects primarily center around pumped storage hydro power and renewable energy technologies, including solar, floating solar, and wind energy systems.

NHPC and APGENCO's initiative is strategically aligned with the rising demand for sustainable energy solutions, and the projects are expected to contribute significantly to Andhra Pradesh's RE capacity. The joint venture also plans to evaluate and implement additional projects in the future, subject to mutual agreement.

By leveraging their combined resources and expertise, the companies aim to address the challenges of energy security and environmental sustainability.
