BrightNight has announced the commissioning of the first phase of Optima Maharashtra, a 115 MW hybrid renewable power project located in Dharashiv, southern Maharashtra. This marks the company’s entry into the Indian power grid and is one of the first co-located wind-solar projects in the state.
Optima Maharashtra integrates advanced wind and solar technologies powered by BrightNight’s proprietary AI-enabled PowerAlpha platform, maximizing energy output with the lowest environmental impact. With a commitment to advancing India’s clean energy goals, this project will help Maharashtra achieve its target of 40 percent renewable energy by 2030.
Additionally, BrightNight is preparing to develop large-scale hybrid projects in Rajasthan, combining wind, solar, and battery storage systems, and is actively expanding its footprint in several Indian states including Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh.
To support the development of BrightNight’s GW-scale renewable power portfolio in India, Philippines-based ACEN Corporation, part of the Ayala Group, committed USD 250 million of investment into BrightNight India in 2023.
