Reliance Power Plans to Invest Rs 10,000-cr in Solar Plant, Manufacturing in AP

Reliance Power, led by Anil Ambani, plans to invest over Rs 10,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh for a solar power plant and an integrated solar manufacturing facility. Through its renewable energy arm, Reliance NU Suntech, the company will develop a 930 MW solar power plant with a 1,860 MWh battery storage system in Kurnool.
 

The project, slated to be Asia's largest single-location solar and battery energy storage facility, aims for commissioning within 24 months of finalizing a power purchase agreement with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). It would generate approx. 1,000 direct jobs and 5,000 construction-phase employment opportunities.
 

Additionally, Reliance Power plans a Rs 6,500 crore investment in an integrated solar manufacturing facility, scouting 1,500 acres of land for this purpose, and a possible finalizing of a land parcel near the Rambili industrial area in Visakhapatnam, signals advanced planning stages.
