Welspun Corp Ltd (WCL), a prominent global manufacturer of line pipes, announced on January 14 the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saudi Aramco. This agreement aims to set up an advanced Longitudinal Submerged Arc Welded (LSAW) pipe production facility in Saudi Arabia.
The project received board approval from Welspun Corp on November 8, 2024. Having been a trusted supplier to Saudi Aramco for nearly two decades, Welspun Corp has contributed to several significant oil and gas pipeline projects in the Kingdom. The upcoming LSAW pipe manufacturing facility in Dammam 3rd Industrial City will feature cutting-edge technology, enabling it to cater to diverse pipeline needs, including oil, gas, hydrogen transport, and carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) projects. Operations at the facility are expected to begin by mid-2026.
